Though I've grown up in a non-denominational context, I've decided that observing Lent this year may be beneficial to me, so I'm giving up a serious bad habit - recreational Internet use. That, of course, includes LJ, so I won't be clogging your comments for some time. I'm hoping to use the extra time to improve my grades and boost my musical ability significantly. I may try keeping a dead-tree journal to track my progress, which I'l share at the end so you know what I've been up to.

Dear Cecily, I don't really know how to tell you this, but you’re a leprechaun. I think I realized it when we skinny dipped in the bathtub in your closet and I saw you carve your initials into the Catholic priest. I'm sure you're frostbitten enough to understand how awful you are. I'm returning your Hannah Montana underwear to you, but I'll keep the oil tank from your car as a memory. You should also know that I get sick when I think of your feet and you ruined my attempts at another world war. Go milk a cow, T.J. ( Insanity is the best contagion ever )I . . . I honestly don't know what to say. This is possibly the craziest meme I have come across. I am slightly disturbed, but mostly resisting the urge to die laughing in the middle of statistics class. ][groove][ amused ][heard at the scene][ Airship PIrate - Abney Park |

What is it with these BS courses? Music History = useless. I don't care and it doesn't make me a better musician. Screw it. Elementary Statistics = useless. I won't use this stupid crap. Intro. to Fine Arts = Interesting, but useless. It's art history. Unfortunately, the professor forgot that this is an INTRODUCTORY class, and gives us way too much work. Biological Origins = useless so far. It's been nothing but a history course. Here's my perspective: Unless you're going to teach history, most history courses are USELESS and a waste of time. I want to be a musician. As such, I am taking classes to major in Music. Will knowing about dead musicians from the Renaissance and Baroque periods make me a better rock bassist, guitarist, keyboardist, or vocalist? Heck no. Ooh, I can blather about the early Franco-Flemish style of the Renaissance period. So what? What a load of crap. Look, I don't mind learning about such things - everybody should be exposed to it to some extent to see if they're interested in it. However, the professors shouldn't obsess about it and expect us to learn a bunch of crap we'll forget 5 minutes after the test and never use anyway. Case example: A portion of our Fine Arts test expected us to identify the parts of Doric and Ionic columns. What the heck? Who cares? How is this at all relevant to my life? Why are their four music history courses? Let's cover the whole of music history in one 3-credit-hour class, ease off on the detail, and get it all over with. I can look the stuff up if I ever care enough to bother, which is unlikely. The only courses that will improve my ability as a musician (and therefore my ability to make money as a musician) are instrument instruction and music theory, with a few classes in how the industry works (which is difficult, since the Internet has utterly annihilated the classic model). End of story. College as a system should be rethought. Let's cut the crap and focus on real-world, useful knowledge. Ah, the professor's here. Time for another hour of disgusting, useless statistics class.

WAHAHAHAHA. "Beautiful and exotic but deadly Eastern lieutenant: This is pretty plausible, except Rii-chan isn't from the East. She would make a good ninja lieutenant, though. Henchperson who constantly plays with knives: UC wouldn't be my henchman, unless he was the totally awesome hero in disguise who ends up thwarting my bid for world domination. Or maybe the one really running the show from the shadows. I'm thinking "plays with swords" more than "plays with knives," though. Perverted scientific genius: TRUFAX. Cordon bleu chef: I could see it. I'm imagining her leading the kitchen staff in song, strumming her guitar. Lieutenant with serious moral qualms: Hm. I guess so. I wouldn't put it past him to be faking the moral qualms so I wouldn't take him seriously, then staging a coup and attempting to take control of my operation, though.

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you.
This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make! - What I create will be with you in mind. - It'll be done this year. - You have no clue what it's going to be. - I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.
The catch? Oh, the catch is that you put this in your journal as well. We all can make stuff.

So Rii-chan (shut up, it's weeaboo-ish but I'm so used to tacking on the honorific that it feels awkward not to) was looking up her Chinese zodiac stuff, so I decided to shamelessly rip off her post [[don't hurt me D:]] Commentary in double brackets. People born in the year of the rabbit often make ideal diplomats or politicians. [[Pfft, no. Not ever.]] Rabbit person has grace, culture and beautiful manners. [[Well, I’m told I’m polite, but culture and grace? Nein.]] Although rabbit people get on well with everyone, [[I’m civil to everyone]] at heart they are basically reserved creatures [[heck yes]], and are only really happy when they are engrossed in some sort of scholarly or intellectual activity. [[Maybe.]] They are just too sensitive to the world around them. [[Haha, no. Ask my mom.]] They are just not able to thrive in a competitive or aggressive environment, [[it’s true]] and it makes them anxious if someone forces them to take risks. [[O YES]] Their inner world is simply too delicate for unsettled or unpredictable situations, [[new things scare me]] and they tend to create a peaceful and comfortable atmosphere on a hunch. [[Not much with the noise-making, me.]] This character trait makes them very hospitable and attentive people, who take care of those around. [[Ha, no.]] The average rabbit person emphasizes the importance of small details. [[No I don’t.]] They pay attention to everything from colour, design and furniture to food and conversation. And only when they are sure that everything has been arranged as they wished, these people can relax and have fun. [[Not really, I’m pretty laid-back]] Person born in the year of rabbit often leads a conservative lifestyle, [[yeah, that’s me - except the hair]] where one of the most important things is their security. [[what tipped you off, the blanket?]] This quality has a negative side also. Opting for safety over risk they may miss good opportunities. [[Story of my life]] This does not imply that these people are frivolous or irresponsible, for when they truly believe in some thing they are serious, perseverant and capable. [[But I am irresponsible. Yes on the truly believing bit, though.]] Calm as they are, it is not easy to provoke rabbit people. [[Only certain stimuli]] They are sentimental and compassionate. [[Not really.]] Yes, and they cry easily too. [[No I don’t.]] They can be moved by personal problems you share with them. [[Okay, yeah, this.]] Therefore, if you work as a salesman for a living, you will have much better luck with rabbit people - Nine out of Ten Rabbit people will definitely buy your products! [[Heck no - I hate dealing with salespeople. Odds are that I’ve already done the research and don’t need you.]] People born in this year can be great partners in relationships. [[Wouldn’t know.]] Romantic and sweet, [[I would be]] faithful too, [[abso-frickin’-lutely]] rabbit people never lack of suitors. [[Well, I don’t have any . . .]] They are in extreme need of trust [[heck yes]], security [[oh yes]] and tenderness [[somewhat]] in a relationship and are really happy when they manage to create an intimate and relaxed atmosphere. [[Sounds right.]] When the rabbit person does the planning, he/she is happy calling the shots [[no!]] and will expect his beloved automatically be on the same wavelength. [[maybe this]] In case the partner's behaviour becomes erratic or hurtful he/she withdraws into your shell. [[OMGyes]] Sometimes this person really believes that everything is fine and these relationships are strong and solid, but careless remark or impudent behaviour can suddenly place serious doubts in his/her mind. [[Probably.]] It is important to solve such problems appropriately. Partners may discuss these fears and express their points of view openly to avoid repetition of these problems in the future. Otherwise these relationships won't last too long. In spite of his/her devotion to the loved one, it is important to remember that the rabbit person wants to have a secret side to his/her life, too. [[Yesyesyes.]] It is natural for him/her to demand solitude in order to get in touch with his/her inner self. [[Definitely.]] Sometimes it takes time for a rabbit person to find a partner, a real soul-mate, and he/she may seem to be fickle [[maybe]] and insecure [[OH SNAP YES INDEEDY]] along the way, but when he/she has found that person his/her attachment is boundless. [[A bit like Maes Hughes in that way, only quieter.]] Call them cautious [[my spin on it]] or call them timid [[the truth]], rabbit people will undertake nothing before they have weighed the pros and cons from every angle [[and then maybe not]]. And that is probably why rabbit people are doing their work so well. [[I am?]] They are balanced in outlook and cautious in approach, and like to be informed of all the facts before making a judgment. [[I don’t like not knowing.]] They usually can not bear the cut and thrust of business life preferring work that is more methodical and reliable. [[Yes plz.]] At times a rabbit person is a bit of a plotter and tends to be too conservative, [[certainly]] but he/she is gifted with a positive yet practical outlook that few can fault. [[Practical, yes. Positive? No.]] He/she has a talent to avoid the trouble and identify opportunity. [[No I don’t.]] But it is important to remember that his/her creative talents will come to the fore when he/she is allowed to work at your own pace. [[What friggin’ creative talents? You mean stick figures and the riff from “Smoke on the Water”?]] As a rule, colleagues value these people's tact [[if you want to call silence tact]] and modesty [[I’m allergic to compliments]] and realize the fact that rabbit people are unlikely to step over others to achieve their goals. [[I won’t do it.]] Positive: The Rabbit can be sensitive [[not enough]], tactful [[really just quiet]]. home-loving [[not really, travel rocks]], refined [[not really]], prudent [[no]], discreet [[again, quiet]], long-living [[maybe]], ambitious [[yeah]], cultured [[not really]], well-mannered [[maybe]], artistic [[not enough]], considerate [[not enough]], scholarly [[I’ve got a 3.7 GPA so far and made the dean’s list last semester, does that count?]], suave [[Psh, no.]], graciously hospitable [[mi casa es su casa]], modest [[insecure, actually]] and unimpeachably virtuous [[I screw up as much if not more than any other stiff]]. Negative: The Rabbit can also be snobbish [[music snob :D]], secretive [[yes]], pedantic [[oh yes]], complicated [[not really]], haughtily indifferent [[yes]], self-indulgent [[this explains my gut]], hypochondriacal [[Eh?]], punctilious [[Eh?]], judgmental [[you suck]], self-righteous [[I hope not]], deceptive [[not clever enough to lie properly]], self-centred [[oh yes]] and terminally condescending [[maybe by accident]]. The reserved Rabbit is very intelligent [[psh, no]], intuitive [[not at all]] and in touch with nature [[“Nature is dirty.” - Adrian Monk]]. Generous by definition, [[what’s mine is yours]] Rabbits can also be afraid of their own power. [[what power?]] People trust them easily [[maybe]] and admire them [[no they friggin’ don’t]], but Rabbits themselves are cautious [[you mean cowardly]] and discreet [[you mean quiet]]. Everywhere they go they create peace for others [[I just stay out of their way]]... but compromise their own inner harmony with sudden mood changes and fear. [[not so much on the mood changes, YES on the fear]] Rabbits are full of heart and love to take care of the wounded body, heart and soul -- they are gentle and kind. [[Mostly for the people I care about.]] The Rabbit is a performer. [[Not really, I’m terminally insecure and freeze up on stage.]] Rabbits can speak eloquently [[they done told me I talk good]] and knowledgably [[not so much]] about many things. Their interests are wide-ranging and global. [[Kind of, yeah.]] They can be generous to a fault -- a Rabbit would give away his or her last penny to someone in need. [[Unless they’re panhandling at a highway exit.]] Rabbits can be very successful as long as they keep their fears in check. [[This is me in one sentence, hahaha.]] They love everything [[no.]] and everyone [[not really]], but self-love is a challenge for them [[can’t do it, that guy sucks]]. You may think you know a Rabbit, but it's very hard to find out how they really feel, as they are so discreet about their true thoughts and feelings. [[Actually, if I trust you, ask me and I’ll tell you about it.]] If you have a Rabbit friend, make sure you honor his or her heart. [[I like hugs . . .]] People born under the year of the Rabbit tend to be fortunately blessed [[Dad just bought me a Gibson Les Paul for Christmas, does that count?]], strong willed [[you mean lazy]], hate disagreements, [[I don’t like confrontation]] careful [[timid]], unobtrusive [[if not for the hair, I’d be invisible]], systematic [[I haver to understand how it works]] and confident [[NEVER]]. The Rabbit is one of the most fortunate of all the Chinese star signs. [[Not so much]] With their live and let live attitude toward life they don't often get into trouble and seldom make enemies. [[I don’t.]] Although they can often put themselves first due to their fondness for comfort, [[yes]] they are considerate, kind and thoughtful towards others. [[I try]] Rabbits are said to be elegant [[not this one]] and kindly [[again, no]] and the Rabbit is the symbol of long life [[good, it’ll take that long to do anything risky]]. They are said to draw their life energy from the moon. [[It’s pretty.]] Although being graceful, kind and sensitive [[I’m kind of a jerk, really]] and leading tranquil lives, [[because of the laziness and cowardice]] they do have a tendency towards being removed, indifferent and somewhat temperamental. [[YES]] In business they do tend to be fortunate but this comes from being shrewd, crafty and hardnosed. [[No, I’d run a business into the ground because I wouldn’t take risks.]] On the whole the Rabbit likes an easy, good time [[don’t we all?]] and gives sensible solid advice, [[I don’t give advice]] although they do shy away from commitments. [[Because I’m afraid I’ll screw them up.]] The rabbit is one of the most delicate animals among all 12 animals. [[Not really - I’m kind of a tank]] Rabbits are usually kind and sweet and of course, popular people. [[HAHAHAHAHAHA no I’m the aloof, quiet dork with few friends]] Nobody ignores them, [[If not for the hair, everyone would]] for they are good company [[not really]] and know how to make the best of themselves. [[No I don’t.]] A rabbit's home is always a beautiful one [[actually, my dorm is pretty messy because I haven’t finished moving in]] cause Rabbit people are famous for their artistic sense [[not really]] and good taste [[no]]. They are also usually well-dressed [[Hahahaha, no]]. Go check out your Rabbit friend's closet, I bet you will find many expensive and beautiful clothing there. [[Not really.]] But even though they are popular [[you’re kidding, right?]] and loved by their friends and family [[my mommy says I’m special]], rabbit people are also pessimistic [[OH YES]]. They are conservative [[yes]] and insecure [[OMGYESYESYES]], and that explains why most of the them don't like changes. [[I actually do like some changes.]] Unless they abandon their conservative nature, and become more aggressive, they will probably live a very normal, and average life. [[This is not good for someone who’s studying music to be in a rock band]] Male rabbits are sometimes picky, and perhaps not a family man. [[Well, I’d be picky about dating, yes. I’m also reluctant to have kids because I think I’d screw them up.]] The Rabbit is quick [[Rabbit? More like sloth]], clever [[dur wha?]] and ambitious [[“We all just wanna be big rockstars. . .” - Nickelback]], but seldom finishes what he starts [[it’s true]]. He epitomizes gentleness, [[actually, I’m just a wuss]] refinement [[not really]] and elegance [[psh, no]], turning his back on conflicts of any kind. [[I suck at conflict]] Preferring a situation that is perfectly favorable according to his specific desires, [[isn’t that everyone, though?]] the Rabbit bypasses all obstacles and persons he does not find suitable. [[???]] As a result, he is rarely angry, hostile or aggressive. [[Sometimes a little grumpy, but mostly only if I’ve been watching the news]] Companions quickly forget any discord, only remembering his seductive grace [[HAHAHAHAHAHAHA no. I’m about as seductive as a rock, and slightly less graceful]]. The Rabbit is the happiest [[LOL, NO]]sign of the Zodiac -- gifted [[only on my birthday and Christmas]], nice to be with [[haha no]], discreet [[quiet]], refined, [[no]] reserved [[ridiculously so]], ambitious but not too much so [[not enough]], and virtuous in the bargain [[Eh?]]. Nobody ignores Rabbits, [[actually, most ignore me, and for good reason]]. Unfortunately, however, Rabbits are superficial and their good qualities are superficial also. [[Probably, yeah. I suck]] The Rabbit is a social creature [[HAHAHAHA no]], tactful [[quiet]], cool [[again, quiet]], and sensitive to others [[mostly afraid to offend]]. Yet this calm can become aloof [[always does for me]], the sensitivity can be quirky and thin-skinned, [[oh yes]] and the intelligence can become dilettantish. [[Eh?]] The Rabbit is lucky [[No, Tsukuyomi on CAA is Lucky :D]] -- with brains [[BRAIIIINNSSSSS . . . : : zombie stagger : :]] and only a little hard labor [[Rock Lee I ain’t, though I should be]], the Rabbit can go far. [[This is why I don’t. Ever.]] Rabbits seem to be born with an innate sagacity [[I’m no sage]], a natural shrewdness which makes them streetwise when it comes to the affairs of the world. [[Hey guys, this guy in the van says he has CANDY!]] Intuitive and with a canny understanding, they seem to possess an ability to see things before they happen [[I miss half of the things that DO happen]], a talent which secures them the best deals both in business and in life, whilst also ensuring them financial stability and security. [[No, my dad ensures my financial stability - ILU Dad]] With perfect understanding of their partners, [[HAHAHA no I suck at reading people]] they frequently have the advantage, and in the practice of human relations, they are unrivaled in what requires subtle negotiations. [[I’m about as subtle as a ten-gauge shotgun]] They will undertake nothing before they have weighed the pros and cons and examined the deal from every angle. [[The unknown scares me.]] Because of this, people admire the Rabbit [[No, they don’t]] and take him into their confidence. [[I guess . . . ?]] He shines in trade, especially in some offbeat aspect of it like antiques, which permits him to capitalize on his good taste. [[I look for deals online, I guess . . .]] Politics, diplomacy and the law all offer the Rabbit equally good opportunities -- provided always that he can live the tranquil life he craves within their orbit. [[NO! I don’t wanna be a bureaucrat]] Style as well as an eye for beauty are especially associated with this group whose members possess refined tastes together with artistic skills. [[Not really.]] Highly creative people, art is of particular interest to them. [[I likes the animays and the rock n’ roll]] Because of the Rabbit's built-in acquisitive nature, [[you mean “insufferable pack-rat”]] many become great collectors, filling their houses with beautiful paintings and objets d'art. [[That requires money.]] In whatever walk of life Rabbits find themselves, they will always be distinguished by this sense of refinement and their cultured views. [[Har har, no.]] Elegant both physically [[if you define “elegant” as “kinda tubby” and intellectually [[dur how I shot web?]], Rabbits will always stand out from the crowd either as extremely stylish dressers [[oh wow, black jeans instead of blue]] or because they create an individualistic fashion statement of their own. [[being trendy is for tools and dullards]] During the three phases of his life, the Rabbit will manage to have the peaceful existence he wants on one condition: that he keeps away from the exceptional situation, the dramatic turn of events, or the insurmountable obstacle. [[In other words, adventure and anything at all interesting]] Wars, revolutions, natural catastrophes have nothing to do with him; he wasn't designed for adversity. [[I suck at adventures]] Anything that threatens his quiet life becomes insupportable. [[Kind of like Bilbo at the beginning of The Hobbit]] There is usually something offbeat [[I’m a weirdo :D]] and mysterious [[I keep telling you, I’m just quiet]] in the Rabbit's makeup, as though he held the secret to some great truth that he dare not reveal. [[Yer fly’s undone]] It must be remembered that the Rabbit's apparent weakness can easily be changed into strength -- from man to magician to god. [[How about a rock god? Can I do that?]] Though Rabbits are sensitive, sentimental creatures [[not so much]], emotional [[not at all]] and easily moved to tears [[I don’t cry]], when it comes to committing themselves to a long-term relationship they can be quite mercenary [[Eh??]]. Their driving passion is a desire for an easy life, filled with as much comfort and luxury as they can get. [[Within reason.]] Thus they are more likely to show their allegiance to someone who will not only provide security and stability but who will also guarantee as much of la dolce vita as possible. [[I wouldn’t marry for money.]] But to give them their due, once they have found the right partner they make faithful husbands or wives, devoting themselves to their families and to their homes. [[LOOKATTHISPICTUREOFMYDAUGHTERISN’TSHEC UTE!!!!!!!111one]] By the way, their sensuality usually ensures that the Rabbit family will be a large one. [[Again, about as sexy as a rock.]] Affectionate [[I love hugging people]] and obliging [[read: spineless]] though he is with those he loves, faithful [[like a little bulldog puppy]] and loving [[again, the hugs]] though he is, the Rabbit finds it easy to benefit his friends at the expense of those nearest to him; he's not really a family man, and that's the truth of it. [[What? I love my family]] Often enough, he regards his parents or his children almost as strangers to whom he prefers the cronies of his own choice. [[But my dad is my best friend EVER and for always!]] The honest Dog and scrupulous Boar get on well with Rabbits. The Rabbit will settle down well with the Ram whose artistic sense he appreciates. The Horse and Tiger do not suit them. There is good interaction with the Ox. The Rabbit should remember to avoid the Rat like the plague! [[mostly because rats tended to spread the plague]] ][groove][ tired ][heard at the scene][ Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood - Santa Esmerelda |

I just finished dancing. On stage. IN FRONT OF LIKE A HUNDRED CLASSMATES. And we NAILED the routine - every step. Wow. That was intense. The crowd totally disappeared (the stage lights helped) and all I could think about was the routine, which my body remembered for me. It was a feeling of complete focus I haven't felt before. Usually, I'm pretty absent-minded, but all that went away when the music started. I loved it. ][groove][ accomplished ][heard at the scene][ Come Dance With Me - Frank Sinatra (we danced to this song) |

I'm definitely tired of being here at Bryan. Classes are all boring by now and I still have to wait another week and a half before I can leave. Bleh. I want out of this crappy, dead-end, forsaken little town. I got done talking with my dad about changing my major. As it stands, I'll be double-majoring in Music: Contemporary Music and Business Administration: Economics/Finance as of next semester. I couldn't talk Dad out of making me take the second B.S. (the Business degree) and into letting me minor in business or take the A.S., which sucks, but he's paying for college, so he calls the shots. I just hope the fifty-eight credit hours of business classes I have to take don't suck as much as I think they will. I'm really not looking forward to calculus. Or Legal Environment for Business. Or International Business. Or Intermediate Finance or any of these stupid courses. Ah well. Just have to play the hand I'm dealt, I suppose. I just got back from dance practice! Now I'm all sweaty (bloody stage lights) and soaked from the rain (bloody rain) and I must look awful. Oh well, there's only dance tomorrow.

Comment on this note, and:
1. I'll respond with something random about you. 2. I'll tell you which song or movie you remind me of. 3. I'll pick a flavor of jello to wrestle you in. 4. I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me. (if possible. If not, I'll say something that only makes sense to me.) 5. I'll tell you my first memory of you. 6. TWO MEMES FOR THE PRICE OF ONE. WHAT.
Step 1: Put your MP3 player or whatever on random. Step 2: Post the first line from the first 20 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song. Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from. Step 4: Strike out the songs when someone guesses correctly.

So, I think this is the first real, honest-to-God post I've made in quite a while. Telling you to listen to Muse doesn't really count, y'know? You should still do it, mind you. Anyway, it's about 4 in the morning and I can't sleep on account of my brain. My brain, like all human brains, is a marvel of engineering. But far too often, it wants to analyze and measure and compare and question and second-guess when it really has no business doing so. Case in point: MUSIC. Music, like most forms of art, is a curious junction between the rational and the purely experiential. There's theory to be learned, systems to be memorized, etc. - plenty of studying to be done. But a large part of art - the frustrating part - is when all of that falls away and it goes beyond words. It's frustrating because you can't explain it. You can't study it. And all of this is why I can't understand it. I can't take it apart and figure out the mechanism. That scares me. Why? Because I'm throwing my lot in with music as a career choice. I'm supposed to take this art form and master it so that people will pay me money for it. I'm worried. I'm worried that 21 is too late to start. I'm worried that I have the wrong personality to be a great artist. I worry that I don't have what it takes and I can't get it in time. www.youtube.com/watch <- Click this link, let the whole thing load, and then start the video. DANG. If anything qualifies for the title of "epic," this is it. Joe Satriani (the bald guy with the red guitar, for those poor souls unfamiliar with his work) displays his massive chops without sounding self-indulgent (a weakness many lead guitarists have, especially the shred-happy ones), and even channels Tom Morello for a little scratching. Meanwhile, Dave LaRue (the long-haired fellow with the gold bass) is the king of groove, displaying everything a great bass player ought to be - and also persuading me that I absolutely must own a gold EBMM Bongo bass. So what if they cost the larger part of two thousand dollars. Hopefully, by the time I can actually afford one, I'll have skills worthy of the instrument. Shoot, I need to sleep. Now go listen to two brilliant musicians rock ][groove][ artistic ][heard at the scene][ Cool #9 - Joe Satriani and Dave LaRue |

"At this particular time, you are feeling that you are or were unjustly and undeservedly treated and/or betrayed in your hopes and dreams. You feel that everything is against you. But look on the bright side for you are, whether you believe it or not, a survivor." . . . What. GET OUT OF MY HEAD. I am feeling pretty messed up in regards to my dream right about now. Everything against me? Yeah. And it isn't comforting to me to be a "survivor". People who lose limbs and eyes and all sorts of functions and abilities to land mines and such are survivors too. "You are a leader in every sense of the word." Bull. Absolute bull. "You know where you are going and you know what you need to do in order to get there. You exercise an inherent initiative in overcoming obstacles and difficulties. You either hold, or wish to achieve, a position of authority by means of which full control can be exerted over events." First thing: my initiative sucks. Absolutely sucks. If it was as good as the survey says, I'd be on top of the friggin' world. Also, I hate being in positions of authority. I just want to be left to do my thing and not have anybody bother me about it. "You are a demanding egocentric and therefore quick to take offence. This attitude makes people feel somewhat inadequate when in your company and so it is no wonder that at times you feel alone and unwanted." Actually, I'm an introverted, insecure human being with no sense of self-worth who feels inadequate in everybody else's company and therefore feels alone and unwanted. Thanks for playing, try again. "You pretend that you are a carefree individual and that nothing really bothers you - that you are so self-sufficient that whatever problems beset you they simply flow off you as water flows off a ducks back. You are experiencing considerable stress, trying to conceal yourself from the rest of the world. In actual fact - deep down, you are not at all happy. You feel lonely and you need someone with whom you can 'Let your hair down' and share your hopes, dreams and high standards. You are imposing unnecessary self restraint on yourself. You would like to demonstrate the unique quality of your character to all and sundry." Again, GET OUT OF MY HEAD. This is me in one paragraph. "You are moody and depressed at this time but it will pass. All of your hopes and dreams seem to have gone astray and you are fearful of planning further for the future. Disappointment at the non fulfilment of your hopes and the fear that to formulate fresh goals will only lead to further setbacks have resulted in considerable anxiety and you try to escape from this by withdrawing into yourself. But that is not the answer. You have the power to succeed, believe in yourself... all is possible to him who believes." Everybody has the power to succeed. Few do. That's not helping. I only believe in that which is worth the belief. Ergo, I don't believe in myself. Pretty accurate, for the most part, but lacking in places.
